Mandy Castro, Head Cheerleading Coach
Mandy Castro is a Colorado Native who graduated from Monarch High School in 2019. During her spirit career, Mandy lettered in Varsity Poms, CHSSA Hip Hop State Runner-Up, State Finalist, 2x League Champion, cheered for Cheer Central Suns for 3 years, 2x National Finalist, Restricted 5 Summit National Champion in 2017 and cheered collegiately for CU All-Girl Cheer. Mandy currently attends the University of Colorado Boulder where she is currently working towards her BA in the Leeds School of Business with an emphasis on Marketing, and in the progress of achieving a Spanish minor. Coaching has become one of her passions and she loves watching the team grow and improve every year; as students, athletes, and people. She helped the BHS team through the 2019-2020 season in which they placed 7th at CHSSA Spirit State Championship. The 2020-2021 season will be Mandy's 1st official season as the Head Coach. Mandy is excited to bring her wide knowledge of the spirit world to the BHS Team.
Kelsey Young, Assistant Cheerleading Coach
Kelsey Young is also a Colorado native and is currently living in Boulder, Colorado attending the University of Colorado. She is working towards double majoring in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences and Sociology, and she plans to attend grad school for speech therapy. Kelsey graduated from Rock Canyon High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado where she started her cheer career. During her time in high school she lettered in Varsity Cheer, Won a State Championship, State Runner-Up, 3 League Titles, and was a 2x National Finalist. She was also a varsity captain and on the All-State Colorado Spirit team. Kelsey currently cheers at the D1 collegiate level for the University of Colorado at Boulder on the all-girl team. Kelsey has wanted to coach cheerleading ever since she joined the cheer world back in high school. Cheer is such a passion of hers, and she can’t wait to share it with the Boulder High community. She helped coach the 2019-2020 BHS team place 7th at CHSSA Spirit State Championship and can’t wait to see what the next years bring to Boulder High cheer. Go Panthers!
